Michele Band


Michele is a graduate of Loyola University, New Orleans with a Master’s degree in Theology and Marriage and Family Therapy. She has extensive experience in the addiction and domestic violence fields having been a clinical director and a jail program director (men’s and women’s substance abuse treatment), as well as a CEO of a domestic violence center over the past 25 years of her professional life. While serving on a federal government research team, she published the results of her findings, developed a curriculum based on her research, and had that curriculum implemented in treatment centers across the country. She has also been a featured therapist and commentator on the Oprah Network show “Unfaithful: Stories of Betrayal” and has served as a board member of Floridians for Recovery.

Michele specializes in sex addiction treatment, treatment for partners of sex addicts, couples, and trauma. She has trained with some of the world’s leading experts in relationships and sex addiction, such as Drs. Patrick and Stefanie Carnes, Ginnie and Paul Hartman, Dr. Mark Lasser, and Dr. Harville Hendricks. In addition to being a Licensed Marriage and Family therapist 

(LMFT), Certified IMAGO Educator, and a Certified Sexual Addictions Therapist (CSAT), she is eligible for her certification in Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT) and Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR). She is a licensed marriage and family therapist and a CSAT. Michele co-facilitates the Men’s Sexual Addiction group on Mondays, Men’s Sexual Addiction/DBT group on Tuesdays, and Partners of Sex Addicts on Thursdays.

Michele and her husband, Tyler, are open with their recovery from addiction and are active in the recovery community in SWFL. They currently enjoy living in Estero raising their dog, Lulu, and traveling the globe to visit with their six adult children and one grandchild.
