Lauren is a student intern currently in the process of completing her Master of Social Work degree from the University of Nevada-Reno. Lauren discovered a passion for mental health while previously interning at a behavioral health clinic. She has worked with children, adults, and seniors in individual and group therapy settings, with a focus on collaborative goal setting, personal growth, and self-determination.
During her previous experience in mental health, Lauren developed an interest in helping others to identify and overcome trauma, discover the impact of attachment styles on personal relationships, and using various therapeutic interventions to address trauma, grief, depression, anxiety, personality dysfunction and family issues.
Lauren will be using her educational experience and enthusiasm to work with children and adults at Spectrum Recovery Solutions. Her goal is to establish a strong therapeutic relationship between counselor and client to create a safe and healthy environment for clients to explore their stories and their growth. Lauren uses Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and person-centered therapy to address emotional and behavioral challenges.
Lauren focuses on her own personal growth through self-care, music, reading, mindfulness, and education. She believes that by looking within yourself and accepting your experiences in life, you may then begin to change your thoughts and behaviors to move toward healthy choices, behaviors, relationships, and positive self-image.
